Hekas 031-87-9EX Cuckoo Clock Chalet Style with 8-Day Movement
Hekas has crafted a scene here with meticulous attention to detail, showcasing German coziness. A farmer takes a break from his hard work. There’s a hay bale with a pitchfork, and a stack of chopped wood, and the diligent worker takes a well-deserved break every hour, where even the handcrafted figurine raises its glass.
This Black Forest Hekas 031-87-9EX cuckoo clock is one among the Hekas clocks equipped with an 8-day movement. This means it needs to be manually wound, like all traditionally crafted cuckoo clocks from the Black Forest. For a week’s worth of operation, the pendulum chains must be quite long. Therefore, Hekas cuckoo clocks are typically mounted at a height of at least 1.90 meters so that the pendulum weights can hang freely. If this space is not available, you don’t have to miss out on this beautiful clock; you simply need to wind it more often.
The cuckoo in this Hekas clock calls every hour, and in this model, even every half-hour. To prevent it from disturbing your sleep, you can use the manual night-time shut-off feature.
All authentic cuckoo clocks, including those from Hekas, derive their timing from the pendulum weight. This means they may run fast if the pendulum beats too quickly, or slow if it swings too leisurely. To regulate this, simply adjust the pendulum leaf slightly up or down. Like any charming instrument, a little patience is required for tuning cuckoo clocks. If it’s new to your home, it will take a few days for you to synchronize together. But then, you’re sure to enjoy your Black Forest clock from Hekas.
